The June 2016 edition of Planning Magazine, published by the American Planning Association, named Luc Anselin the most cited academic planner. He was included in the survey based on his previous faculty appointment at Arizona State University's School of Geographical Sciences and Planning.
With over 45,000 citations his research and methods development related to spatial econometrics topped the Google Scholar citations count of all academic planners. According to Planning Magazine: "The bottom line? Anselin is the guy who has helped everyone in planning make regression and other statistical models run right. "
