On July 1, 2016, Luc Anselin joined the University of Chicago faculty as the Stein-Freiler Distinguished Service Professor in Sociology and the College. At the same time, he started directing the new Center for Spatial Data Science at the University of Chicago, the successor of the GeoDa Center for Geospatial Analysis and Computation at Arizona State University. Anselin also serves as a senior fellow at the National Opinion Research Center at UChicago.
