Spatial Data Science Conference Huge Success
The Spatial Data Science conference that the Center for Spatial Data Science (CSDS) co-hosted with Carto at Carto’s office on Dec. 1, 2017 was a big success. Over 150 people attended the conference, which was originally designed for 100 participants —despite the 1-month notice, interest in spatial data science far exceeded expectations of attendance.
The conference space at Carto's Brooklyn office was packed.
Julia Koschinsky, Research Director of CSDS (behind the pole!), did the closing keynote with Stuart Lynn, Head of Research and Data at Carto, poking fun at silos in the field.
Participants really got into the unconference session.
You can access the taped conference presentations here. If you’re interested in joining the emerging spatial data science community, sign up for the newsletter or slack channel! We will also soon host spatial data science community talks. Please contact spatial@uchicago.edu for more information.
